Herman Cain Responds To Morgan Freeman

You will rarely see me make a political post on David's Musings any longer. I have a political blog (The Right Commentary) that I am currently trying to get off the ground. I don't really think this is a political post. But, I find that I have to respond here to actor Morgan Freeman's rant against the Tea Party. Morgan Freeman is one of my absolute favorite actors in the world. He is as fine an actor that you will ever see. His performance in "Shawshank Redemption" was one of the best I've ever seen. He is widely heralded for his philanthropy.

But, where Mr. Morgan gets in trouble is when he starts trying to get into something he knows little about; politics. Don't get me wrong. Morgan Freeman is entitled to his opinion. He is entitled to what he said when he called the Tea Party "racists." Where people like Mr. Morgan often go astray is when they comment on something they know little about. GOP candidate Herman Cain took Morgan Freeman to task for that "racist" comment about the Tea Party. Mr. Cain made note that most critics of the Tea Party (such as Morgan Freeman) have never even been to a Tea Party event.

Morgan Freeman stated on Piers Morgan show that the Tea Party's, "...stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term. What's, what does that, what underlines that? Screw the country. We're going to do whatever we do to get this black man, we can, we're going to do whatever we can to get this black man outta here." Of course, that is patently false. Is it true that the Tea Party wants to defeat President Obama in the November 2012 election? Absolutely yes! But, does that make them racist? Does it make white people, who voted for Obama in 2008, but are now not voting for him in 2012, racist? Are blacks racists for voting for Obama by a 95% margin racist because they are voting on skin color? Please. Andrew Breitbart currently has a $100K challenge for anyone to provide video evidence of racist comments at Tea Party events. So far, no takers. The Tea Party is feared by those on the Left because they see them as a political force that scares them. People often say and do the irrational when they are scared someone will upset the status quo. I feel this is exactly what we are witnessing from the asinine comments of people like Maxine Waters and, now, Morgan Freeman.

I love Herman Cain. I don't listen to most of the left wing idiots in Hollywood. Just saying.

Have a terrific day. :)

Sandee, Mr. Cain appears to be a good man. Right now, I'd take that in place of what we have in the Oval Office presently.
