In honor of this day, I am doing something I rarely do. I am placing a video on this blog. I used to do it every Wednesday instead of Nature Wednesday (which seems much more popular strangely enough). But, it seems videos just slow down blogs. This is the opening scene of "Saving Private Ryan." It is U.S. soldiers landing at Omaha Beach on D-Day. Among many other battles of other wars, this day was critical toward defeating Nazi Germany. Today as you set out for the typical Memorial Day activities, remember the men who fought and died at Normandy. Remember all the men and women who have fought and lost their lives in all wars defending freedom for this country.
