And Now the Legal Battles Begin

Democrats finally received their Holy Grail on Sunday when they passed healthcare reform aka socialized medicine. It doesn't matter that the only reason this healthcare reform bill passed was due to bribes and threats. No, the only thing that mattered was passing this monstrosity on this country. It is clear that the majority of Americans do not want a European style healthcare system. The three headed dragon known as Obama-Pelosi-Reid decided they know what is best for you and I. We don't have enough sense to think for ourselves. So, in their little socialized world, they decided they know what is best.

Now, the battle begins in court [article link]. "Attorneys general in three states — Virginia, Florida and South Carolina — have indicated they will file legal challenges to the measure, on the grounds that it violates the Constitution by requiring individuals to purchase insurance" according to the linked article. The main sticking point is the individual mandate. Can the federal government mandate that its citizens buy insurance? This is almost like the old poll taxes on African-Americans so they couldn't vote. The 24th Amendment Ended the Poll Tax January 23, 1964. So, is this individual mandate constitutional? We are going to find out.
